its up to the kid. If they want to learn and work hard then they will. If they wont, they wont. Private school isnt needed to be successful by any means.
I agree. Just about any public high school in this country will give you what you need to go to college and be successful.

My public school graduating class sent 1 or 2 ivy to the Ivy League, about 20 to vandy and sililar caliber schools, and probably 150 to lsu, slu, and ull.

So many options. You could send your kid to ASH, Bolton, OR Peabody. And if you want to support pedofascism Menard. I dont know how anyone ever went to college. Because its not the school, its what the student makes of his/her resources. kids have every opportunity to be succesful if they want to.

I would be curious to how many Catholics go to Newman, Country Day or St. Martin's.

In the early 90's (when I graduated) I would estimate that 15-20% of the students at St. Martin's were Catholic.

Jesuit was the only school St. Martin's lost male students to back in those days, FWIW. Out of about 60 students in my class, I think we lost 3 or 4 to Jesuit.

what are these percentages you speak of?
The percentages of the Public school kids in BR get arrested compared to Private, the percentage of high school graduates, the percentage of those that go onto college. If you think they are even comparable in BR you have lost your mind. Once again, a good kid can succeed anywhere. Not once have I denied that

Never once have I seen such a complex about private schools before. You have made it a point to bash the hell out of private schools in here. Would I have turned out with a good education and made it in life if I went to Mckinley or Lee high? Of course. But I do not think I would have enjoyed my high school experience 1/100 as much, and I thank my parents for providing that for me. I have no clue why you have made it your goal to bash that

Who gives a shite about their High School experience...I'd hope most leave HS behind once they get their diploma. College and post grad life is where it is at

Agreed, but I dont think it is worth bashing people over if they chose to send their kids to private school because they believe that experience will be better

I would never send my kids to public school. Homeschooling would be better than public. I won't even have kids unless I know I can send them to Newman.

I wouldn't either but when it comes down to it it doesn't much of a difference

You can be a highly educated and motivated person that went to public school or a piece of shite that went to a $15,000 private school

It's all about personal motivation, parenting, the environment you grew up in, and you choices you make in life

Public vs private argument is silly to me

Im sure you are trolling but I would more then happily send my kids to certain public schools. BR high, Franklin, Mandeville, almost all the North LA schools, and definitely all the ones here in Tennessee
