Bull shite. Anecdotal. The same bullshite advice year in/out. The flu shot this year is at best 10-15% effective globally. I'm not an anti vaccer but the flu shot is a bust. Its not like a tetanus or MMR. Those are time tested and effective globally. I truly believe the flu shot is making the flu mutate faster and it becoming a more elusive target. As for decreasing the exposures by getting the flu..bull. You can still have flu particles on your grubby hands and pass it on whether you got the flu or not. Cleaning your hands regularly and washing your face is probably a more effective deterrent. Shove your advice Mr Smarty Pants.

A whole bunch of this. I agree.

That hat will protect from the flu about as much as the vaccine will.

It decreases your chances of getting the flu at all by around 60%

bullshite. Its nearly impossible to put a percentage on that. Theres no way of telling whether the shot kept you from getting the flu or you wouldnt have got the flu even without the shot. The frick out of here.

I didn’t have the flu shot last and I caught the damned flu. Took Tamiflu which helped but, I felt like shite for a few weeks. I also kind of had what would call, near hallucinations. It scared me.

This year, like a good boy, I got my flu shot. Two weeks later, I catch he the damned flu. Kicked my arse for a week. Just got over it a few days ago. Recovered much faster with shot and no Tamiflu.

Now, I’m a 54/year old Autist and I run up sand down the hall screaming all day. The excessive masturbation is causing all kinds of problems at work.

1000s of true stories support getting the shot.
1000s of true stories support not getting the shot.

Nobody has the real answer. Period.

What is real—>Very few people understand the relationship between nutrition, herbs & the immune system. Yes, especially doctors! They have very minimal schooling on nutrition. Best bet is just keep your immune system strong.

60% effective?!? That's not true at all, idc if you are a doctor.
I'm not one of those "it causes autism" people, but last years flu shot was shown to be less than 15% effective and the more dangerous ones weren't even affected by the shot. I'll pass.

All these anti-vaxxers make it pretty clear why Louisiana ranks near the bottom on all the good and near the top on all the bad.I worked 31 years ICU and saw many patients die from the flu. Some years were much worse than others but some years were terrible. One year we had 5 between 15 and 25 die,get sick with flu symptoms, develop ARDS and gone in 24-72 hours.Maybe 2 years out of 3,we would have flu patient develop viral cardiomyopathy and we would ship them to Oschners to hopefully get heart transplant. These were men in their 40’s and 50’s.
Interestingly, females seem to fare better and suffer less complications from the flu than males.I’m curious if that has been Dr.Roger’s experience.
Anyway,in my family we all get flu shots yearly, including our children and grandchildren.

The CDC has millions of data points.

The good news is that the stupid who don't get vaccinations tend to get wiped out when the plague hits.

Also not true. Only with contact/droplet precaution patients.

depends on the hospital, there's one in particular in this area that they make for workers who opt out.

reduces a percentage of actually getting the flu

main job is that it significantly reduces the risk/complications from the flu

Welp one of my relatives, twentysomething female (no pics) in otherwise good health, is currently in ICU with pneumonia after getting the flu. At least she didn't catch the autism..

Hope she recovers soon and completely her youth is on her side.

Had the flu last year and even with the flu shot it was a miserable week.

I will rush to get Tamiflu next time.
