I have daughters that can barely keep a bedroom clean. I’ll leave my yard to the professionals

Honestly there is a lot of $$ to be made by just asking the neighbors who will gladly pay a kid instead of a lawn service.
I’d love if the young boys in my neighborhood offered to cut my grass. At this point & in this heat, idgaf how it looks. Just cut it.

I was push mowing 2.5 acres at 10 years old

Had 12 yr old daughter cut it since her older brother couldnt do it this week. She knew what to do, apparently wife had her do it once when I was out of town.
These upper middle class parents are raising some weak kids. I rarely see any of them doing yard work. Also frequently hear parents say it's just too hot for kids to do anything outside. At first I thought it was just people that grew up in colder climates but I hear it from I hear it from folks that grew up here in FL or elsewhere in SE just as hot/humid. Kids all have access to garage fridges w drinks and ice pops all we had was a hose and occasionally if lucky a house down street selling frozen paper cups of koolaid.

I was an only child and an only grandchild and a girl. I mowed my grandparents' small yard and our half acre by the house. Sometimes I got to ride the riding lawnmower for the bottomland (2 1/2 acres). It never dawned on me to expect my Father to do all of it.
I was never paid, but I ultimately inherited.

Nothing like a finely cut lawn and a well tuned mower to give any man a boner. Enjoy.

Just finished weed eating, edging, and push mowing my almost half acre. HR strap told me I burned over 1700 calories. It’s hot out there, baws.
Son is only 2 months old, so I’ve got a ways to go before I get any relief.

While you and your son are mowing me and little Jaxtyn are taking extra reps in the cage preparing our 4th World Series Championship Bowl this summer.
Those 4 World Series Championships better dam well have had a Shirt made for each. Guessing yours each had Jaxtyn's dad on the back.

Drives me absolutely nuts, and I live in a sub with acre plus lots.

We had 2 1/2 acres 42 pine trees that followed the fence from front to back and I had to pick the pine cones and rake the needles before father would cut. I fricking hate pine trees.

I have my nephew cut the grass, but he is hard on my lawn mower.
He bent the hood frame. And broke one of the spindles. So it is cheaper for me to cut it myself before he totals the lawn mower.

My son will have to fight me for grass cutting duties. That's my clear my mind time
Same advice the guy who used to cut my hair would give me, but it included a beer and maybe a little weed IIRC.

Hell, my dad died right before my 9th birthday and yard work fell on me with being the oldest, and only son.
The hardest part was cutting it with an old style reel mower that relied on simple push power and my skinny arse had to work OT to get it done.
It wasn't until I was around 12 that I got a hand me down power mower and that made it a snap to do every week.

My son and several of his friends spent summers working for me and my lawn service. It was a great working with him, and it was also a pretty good motivator for them to finish their degrees. Now that they are all working real jobs, I have a hard time finding good help

Started this when he was 13. After a few years it turned into me just riding and him weed-eating. Then we would edge together. Over the years he's learned to change the oil, restring the trimmer and mix the gas for it. He's 19 now and in college but we still do it together to this day.
Ftr, neither one of us "enjoy" doing it but love the satisfaction of admiring our work. Yes, my lawn has stripes. Come at me bro.

I like mowing my own grass. Kinda my zone out time. I never really viewed it as a chore. My 18y old mows his grandfathers grass for a few more weeks before he leaves for college. If I couldn’t mow it though he would absolutely do it for me no questions asked and always asks if I need help.

My dad loved cutting grass. I’d help in the yard but not cutting the grass unless I came home Friday night drunk and woke him up. Then at 6 am he’d have me cut the yard. He would then cut because I never cut it like he would. I’m a “go in a circle” where he’s a “back and forth”.
