Well worth it for the nap after you get home. Best I slept in my life!

That's the worst part of the whole ordeal.

Even the crapping didn’t bother me. It was forcing that gallon of nasty liquid down without vomiting.

Yep.

Except the other end.

Does the prep give you the rocking sitting on the toilet sweating diarrhea where you feel like you'll pass out?

Or is it just liquid shite coming out?

The prep is putting me off.

Liquid shite. No pain. It actually makes you feel good after a 24 hour fast. I’m drinking it tomorrow. It wasn’t a big deal last time, hopefully the same this time.

The prep is not that bad. Sadly I’ve had to prep at least six times and I’ve got it to where I only do the one step instead of two. I take an exlax two days before and get most of it already out. But I had to finally had to give in after 15 surgeries to to get an ostomy….

One of the last things my grandfather said to me before having surgery for colon cancer (and dying bc a blood clot moved post surgery) was to not be too proud to go to a doctor regularly.
At the time, I didn't know what he meant. It was only after he passed that I realized. I never knew he was sick.

Colon Cancer survivor here.
My husband’s nagging, and a proactive GI had me have a colonoscopy one year ahead of schedule.
Diagnosed with early Stage 1 colon cancer.
Partial re-section, no chemo, no radiation, and no bag.
Next year I’ll be down to blood work only once a year.
Do the damn prep, and get scoped.
Either that, or take a look at the patients at a Cancer treatment facility.
You don’t want to do that.

Getting one is good advice. I know more than one person that caught easily treatable issues before they became a big deal. It's a breeze and worth it for the giggles from the massive farts afterwards

They told me in the pre-op room that they have people show up all the time, claiming they used it, only to have them stop the procedure shortly after they start when the probe runs into a wall of turds.

Hilarious, they should charge these people double for wasting everyone’s time.

Btw…colorguard containers make great dry storage boxes.

I have my first colonoscopy today. I'm currently drinking the second round of the prep. Diarrhea hasn't been as bad as I'd expected. I actually slept pretty decent last night.

I scheduled an appointment for a yearly checkup this week and will get the doctor to begin the process of getting colonoscopy scheduled. 47 so figured it was getting about time to have it done. Thanks for the PSA…you got one person to finally move forward with the process.

Had mine 3 months ago. I was worried about the procedure but it turned out to be a nothing burger. They did find 3 “pre-cancerous” so I have to go back in 3 years. They did give me a sweet Tatoo inside my colon to mark a big one.
