If there was so much evidence against her, why was she exonerated?
There was a lot of controversy over the parents involvement and their testimonies to defend Casey. The defense did what it had to do to put doubt into one juror so thats all that mattered. It was a bizarre case but incredibly sad, was a beautiful little girl

Three things. 1. Accidental death. 2. Dad covered it up. 3. She's hot.

First I'm hearing about this case
I remember at one point she was offered a porn contract. Anyone know if she ever did that?

Heres what I think happened
She seemed like she loved her child but she also loved her social life as well. She enjoyed going out partying with friends a lot. I think there came a point where she wanted to not have to worry about the child and go out with her friends without the responsibility of being a mom. She figured she could probably chloroform her child to sleep to be able to go out. She probably meant to knock her out just to go out for one night but accidentally killed her in the process. She stored the body in the trunk of her car for a period of time before her brother helped her dispose of it. Thats why the car trunk smelled so foul. Casey didn't even report her child missing until her parents stepped in. Its pretty telling when a child is missing and you sit back and not say or do anything. She lied to police offices about a bunch of stuff and had them running on a goose chase across Orlando.
The trial was just messy and chaotic. The parents were obviously disgusted with the entire thing and why shouldn't they be? Her parents late testimonies in my opinion were to help save her daughter from a possible death penalty. With such testimonies that contradicted each other between the parents, the brothers, and hers, it was enough to put a lot of doubt in a juror or twos head and she got off but got charged with lying to police.

The dad was a retired cop. He knew how to cover his tracks.

He didn't do as good a job as he initially thought and the mom screwed it up.

The replay is coming on at 12 (central). There's some good info in it for anyone who missed it the first time.

So her parents changed their story to help her get off. WOW!! I did not know that. Or don't remember that.

California is responsible for OJ.
Put a little time in to it, you could come up with a case like these in every state. Just not as famous.

Just from what I've seen/heard in the media & trial, and now seeing the parents' interaction with her, I believe they certainly created a narcissistic sociopath. And I believe it wouldn't take much for her to be dangerous to others if they get in her way. She got away with murdering her own daughter; no doubt she considers herself bullet proof.
Last night I watched some of the special. Actually, there were two episodes, back to back. I was catching bits and pieces of it, but there were a few things I thought were interesting.
- When Casey got pregnant she wanted to give the child up for adoption right, but her mother didn't want her to right?
- I saw when they were talking about the dad sexually abusing Casey, when she was younger, but the dad testified he never sexually abused her. When they showed Casey when the dad was testifying and she had a stonewall look on her face.
While not showing emotion doesn't prove anything, in most cases, I would think that if a daughter, who was sexually abused by her father, was in court listening to her father testify that he never sexyally abused her, she would have some type of emotional reaction.
- I only saw a part of this, but the thing about her lawyer. Did her lawyer own the rights of her? The part I saw said that the lawyer told Casey to do an interview and the day of she decided she wasn't going to do it so she had to pay him with "3 blow jobs".
The whole thing is bizarre.

The mom did, but what did the dad change? I had it on in the background, but kind of tuned it out while I was on my laptop.
The dad at least seemed genuine about not wanting to ever speak to Casey again. I don't know if he had anything to do with a cover up or not, but he certainly didn't act in denial about Casey's guilt like the mom did.

Yeah I don't buy the abuse claims. There was never any circumstantial evidence presented in the trial of it ever happening.
The prison videos of Casey and her father's conversations also weren't unusual or awkward in anyway. They were actually quite loving and emotional.

Nothing that I remember. Her mom changed a couple of things. Like saying the car smelled like a dead body and that she searched Chlorophyll and the auto search changed it to Chloroform.
The prosecution had her(the mom) at work at the time of the search, with proof with time stamps and she still said it was her and not her daughter that did that.

I've watched the first two, have the last episode on the DVR for tonight. They did go into how she didn't want to have the child, but the mother wanted her too.

I think that's because he didn't sexually assault her. In the interviews they show of her dad and her in the prison, they seem to have a good relationship. She's just a sociopath who had no problems throwing her dad under the bus because she thought it'd help her case.
I didn't really follow the story when it was happening because stories about kids are really hard for me. Watching this is upsetting, as its so obvious she killed her daughter. I wish she could be tried on other charges and receive a proper punishment for what she did.

Followed the case while it was active, watched the trial and the ID show. How she was NG is beyond understanding.
