It does no such thing. This is a lie.

Let be more clear, you and bunch of people here type a lot but don’t make a ton of sense or use logic.

Majority here are hardline conservatives who whether they’ll admit it or not secretly want some kind of Christian pseudo theocratic government. Which is why threads like this exist, get mad at the school for following rules set during the foundation of our country.

You came on here with your whataboutisms trying to say the ot is full of racists in a thread that has nothing to do with race.

I simply pointed out you voted for a catholic that just drone striked a bunch of muslim children. And that the democrats are the ones that have been saying your rights in the constitution are not absolute. The people you vote for believe this.

You have no room to be acting like you are on some moral high ground here.

Who has said this? Surely not the Supreme Court.
See:
Engel v. Vitale
Holding:Government-directed prayer in public schools violates the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment, even if the prayer is denominationally neutral and students may remain silent or be excused from the classroom during its recitation.

Santa Fe Independent School District v. Doe:
The policy of the school district "permitting student-led, student-initiated prayer at [public high school] football games violates the Establishment Clause."

Okay we're talking about two different things. The constitution does not prevent this man from praying in the middle of the football field after a game, whether students independently decide to join him or not.

What you're talking about is completely different from what occurred in this situation.

ETA: I agree that school-directed prayers have been found to be unconstitutional, although I don't think that is right either. Certainly hasn't stopped ANY local municipalities from having a prayer before their City Council meetings. You should just go watch any City Council meeting in the black belt to see if the Democrats' most consistent voting bloc agrees with that interpretation.

Majority? When was the vote and where was my ballot?

I don't anyone to have any say, one way or the other, on when and how I pray. It is all between me and my God.

I believe the rule you might be referring to is is the Free Exercise Clause of the 1st Amendment.

I'm hoping the Supreme Court finally fixes this poor interpretation with the appeal from another coach that should be coming before them. It's outrageous that courts have gotten this so extremely wrong and totally twisted the intent of the constitution.

That's different, the participates are adults and did not have someone is a position of authority above them leading prayer

If we want to believe City Council Members and Mayors aren't in a position of power over the population, I guess we can go with that. School Board Members too, for that matter.

The idea that a School Board can hold prayer before their meetings, but an actual school can't, just highlights how wrongly this has been interpreted by the courts. One of those scenarios MUST be wrong.

In honor of these prayer warriors, please post it as your status for one hour copy and paste, not share. I think I know which of my friends will do this. Don’t let me down

Glad these quality young people stood up for the first amendment. ?

No one said the students couldn't organize and lead prayers. It said that coaches and parents couldn't. I'm fine with that.

No, it didn't make sense at all. Completely out of place in this thread.
