Definitely planned today. State Police was setting up blockades around the courthouse, and several businesses around the courthouse were closing today.
The Sherriff was apparently trying to dig up support for the deputy as well.

State police could release video of this piece of shite hitting the cop and the protestors would still carry on with their foolishness. They think they are creating a "movement" when normal, law abiding citizens are rolling their eyes in disgust.

Mine too, my mother worked in the courthouse a couple days a week in VP and a couple in Lafayette. Glad she isnt there today.
