How can anyone (who has any sense of work ethic, morals, common sense, etc.) vote Democrat in this day and age?

These people are a plague on society and anyone who votes for them are just as bad.

ait.. I remember watching some show about Nevin Shapiro. Was she the president at Miami who accepted his donations?

President from June 1, 2001 – August 16, 2015. 2001-2006 Coker and the vestiges of those dominating teams carried the winning forward for three years then began to taper off resulting in his firing and the hiring of Randy Shannon who had never been a HC and has not been since. Subsequently they hired Al Golden who had 1 other head coaching job at Temple with a losing record, He was virtually identical to Shannon in win percentage. then in 2016, right after Shalala left, they hire Mark Richt and start winning more games. The woman is a disease.

It’s none of their business. By the way, can we limit the kickbacks and graft the members of Congress get?

Cap the pay, the coaching talent falls. Football becomes less entertaining, generating less revenue.

It's dumb. Football programs generate money of the university.

Democrats would rather see less money made by others, even if it means less money over all for everyone.

Are these academics truly this dumb or are they just putting on an act? If it’s the former then that is pretty terrifying

Then who the frick is government to tell universities they can only pay them so much.

Considering most colleges are public state-run entities, the government is who the government is to tell them what to pay.

Time to usher in an era wherein Vanderbilt steals saban away.

Y’all are all right and this bill is a poor attempt to solve the problem of tuition being too costly. Aren't colleges subsidized by our tax dollars by sallie Mae? If those loans were not there wouldn’t things be cheaper?

This was a worse hire than

At least Shannon knew the culture there. Al Golden was just a complete shite hire.

Donna Shalala's mad because the Hurricanes were downgraded to a tropical depression when she was president of the University of Miami.

There's a shock.

Wasn't Donna making big bank at The U? Hiring and firing coaches and what not?

And, former head of Clinton Foundation probably not for free.

She's certainly a trustworthy person.

"I'm mortified at these salaries," said House Rep. Donna Shalala (D-FL), sponsor of the CACIA Act of 2019. "We have not been able to slow spending or expenditures."

Good, now we can cut the salaries of all those idiots in Washington. Send them home. They've been there too long.

This violates the idea of Federalism

Coaches are not federal employees

Donna Shalala

Why has this woman always hated football so much?

She turned around the UW athletic department by hiring Pat Richter, who hired Barry Alvarez. Was losing millions per year.

It's kind of amazing the turn she has taken since then.

Big time coaches who turn their programs into big time programs are the best fundraiser and advertisement for the school.

She probably thought Alvarez was Cuban or Mexican. Didn’t realize he was a good old boy from Pennsylvania whose grandpa was from Spain.
