Arkansas is going for the first state in the south to legalize recreational marijuana in 2022. Virginia has legalized it starting in 2024.

I say bring it on, let the dominos fall and Arkansas start reaping the benefits. Hopefully will encourage Louisiana politicians to get on the ball and forget about lining their pockets or appeasing the Sheriff's Association.

Never. Not as long as the SA is still alive. They love their prisoner stipends and pool of slave labor a bit too much.

Prison industrial complex and policing for-profit will cry about it and kill it.

I hate hangovers, so I like weed more than alcohol.

Repeal all federal laws prohibiting the distribution, sale, and possession of weed. Let the individual states regulate and tax its sale and consumption. Less harmful than alcohol.

Awesome. We'll be able to smoke weed anywhere but will still have counties where you can't buy a beer. Typical.

I’d go further and suggest the states treat it like marigolds, turnips, or bell peppers. No special taxes or goofy rules. Plant, grow, enjoy.

Can’t we have something for once without a multilevel bureaucracy and a pile of taxes to suck the fun out of it?

I’m all for this.

I don’t even smoke and get tired of seeing people getting in trouble for weed or the stigma where it’s like OMG that person is smoking weed

There's no lobby money in allowing people to vote for what they want.

Weed is much safer than alcohol, but your point is a good one. Government screws EVERYTHING up

This is stupid. The "ITS JUST A PLANT GUYS!" routine is ignorant. Obviously it DOES effect the mind far more than bell peppers.

You can be for legalization without trying to claim its exactly the same as eating a vegetable. Marijuana does have a clearly measured psychological effect.

I would like for it to be legal recreationallly in LA just so I can grow my own. Seems like a fun hobby to get into. I'm already into gardening and getting high.

Oh look, Louisiana is getting passed up on a windfall of money. This will also cause a lot of money to leave Louisiana
