So all of these YoY price increases are because of the third stimulus bill? The other, much larger programs Trump signed into law aren’t to blame?

He owns a Trumpy Bear. There's no real way to genuinely discuss politics w a man who sleeps w a Trumpy Bear.

It's hard to say what that border policy has accomplished?

Service industries can't get their employees to come back to work.

I really wish we could get some reliable statistics on this.

Most everyone on this board agrees that adults shouldn't be working minimum wage jobs. Now that people aren't working these minimum wage jobs, the majority of this board is upset.

Please explain this to me. Entry level jobs are for teenagers after school, right? Why is it bad that no adult is working them? Because now it takes people twice as long to fill up your F250 and stuff themselves full of hydrogenated oil because their fat asses were too lazy to pack a lunch from home?

And obviously that's a gross oversimplification of people on this board, but so is the trope that the service industry can't stay staffed because people are sitting on their arse collecting government money. I'm sure that's the case in some instances, but I'm looking for a source with some real statistics to back that up because I just don't believe that's the sole issue causing the shortage. Sure is an easy one to blame, though.

Which anyone with a brain could predict. So we are either being run by idiots or by intelligent enemies. I think it's a toxic combination of both. We only get to see the idiots.

Personally I can't separate these effects from the fear-mongering around the China virus. It is all part of the same plan.

it is amazing that people don't understand the principle of scarcity and what "free" money on a massive scale really costs them in the longer run.

Yep, yet amazingly they know how to cast a vote from the grave.

Me too. I asked about it in another thread the other day, and it seems we're just going on the assumption that that is the reason restaurants are struggling to find employees right now. I do think it is one reason, but I'm not convinced it's the ONLY reason.

What are you talking about moron? I’m supporting trump. The guy said trump started all the spending.

Trump was the only one seriously fighting against the lockdowns. He got no backup from Congress. The lockdowns are exactly their justification for the stimulus.

My point is this: it’s easy to point to the stimulus, and the Fed’s actions, as the source of inflation. The part that’s not easy is determining what would have happened if those actions had not been taken. If inaction led to rapid deflation, that would have been worse.

You are creating a false dichotomy: our only choices were stimulus or no stimulus.

That’s not true. The best solution was to open the economy back up so stimulus wasn’t even necessary. That’s what trump and SOME Republicans were fighting for.
