Here’s where all the people will come and bash millennials because they don’t work their way thru school and pay for college themselves.

Millennial who worked his way through school and payed for college himself with no student loan debt checking in.
I was born in 83, but really align more with GenX.

Well in 2000 a TV couldn't spy on you so there's that

Odd how the two sectors with the most government involvement, namely healthcare and education, have seen the highest price increase.
Odd indeed.
Odd indeed.

When government gets involved, things get more expensive. Healthcare, college, and energy.

And yet somehow both are worth less now.

You can show up with a piece of paper and they’ll say that x-Ray will be $50. You could show up with a different piece of paper and now it’s $1000.
What is the most insidious about this that you agree to the $50, but then find out days, weeks, months, or years after the fact that that is was really 1,000 because your insurance decided it wasn’t authorized or out of network, and a doctor or 3rd party biller is sending you a bill for another amount in addition to the 1,000 or you get a ding on your credit report.

I fully agree. 20 years ago you could buy a highly optioned 1/2 ton pickup for $25,000.
Try doing that today.

That chart says overall inflation is 60% and your biggest takeaway is that TVs are cheap?
The dumbass voters in this country will deserve everything they get by continuing to vote for democrats and uniparty republicans who keep passing massive spending bills and sending billions to shithole Ukraine.

Moral of the story: let them have cake!
If the sheep are able to cheaply entertain themselves they won’t notice that all of their life necessities have gone out of control

Go figure. The shite government is more involved in is rising a lot faster than the stuff government is less involved in.

The bottom of that chart is everything that has been infiltrated by cheap Chinese shite. It would look a hella lot worse if not for Amazon.

I do agree that Obama gets unfairly dumped on for some things, but government taking over healthcare costs and student loans gave universities and hospitals a carte blanche to go hog wild.
IIRC W was president when the student loan thing went down.

I think you may be right and I’m open to being corrected. I feel like it was during his lame duck session.
Most things look like 2012.

I think there was one thing done in 2008 that maybe set the stage under Bush but full government ownership was an Obama thing.

Well, the government HAS taken over healthcare and what needs to be done is to get the government OUT of healthcare.

If born in 83, you went to college in either 2001 or 2002. When did the student loan debt crisis get so far out of control? Wasn’t it a little after that?
