And to think people melted at the thought of receiving a FREEEEE $1000 check in the mail like two days ago

you know what i'd like more than $1k or $1k going to families in need during this time?

people like you who pop into random threads and say "I told you so", "i called this", "saw this coming", etc. I wish they were automatically banned. in short: stfu, you can't link a single person in this thread to a post melting over this as you mention.

I know a lot of service industry people with children sitting in their hands right now. These people need help. I’m in o&g. We are slow as shite. Who knows what’s gonna happen. If anyone doesn’t want their check send it to me. I have bills to pay.

You know absolutely nothing about the Andrew Yang campaign if you don't know about his white nationalist support. They made up about half of his supporters. They pretty much prevented Yang from becoming a viable candidate, since the DNC is sure as hell not going to want Richard Spencer, Don Black, David Duke et al to be supporting the Democratic candidate.

I know it's hard to understand why white nationalists would support an Asian for president. But it definitely happened.

This should be targeted to workers that are affected directly

There will be other programs to address paid sick leave, missed wages, etc.

Direct payments shouldn't be mistaken as being made for the benefit of the recipients in a time of need, this is direct macroeconomic stimulus intended to create economic activity, pushing the demand curve upward, and multiplying dollars.

This is a straight Keynesian approach being used to stimulate a drastically slowing economy. Don't feel guilty. Don't feel embarrassed. The government WANTS you to spend it!

It's very similar to how you stimulate a prostate.

Where are people getting this myth from? They're not spending less to give this money back. In fact, they'll probably spend even more on top of this money they're borrowing (against our future.)

So you're going to pay even more for this money down the road than what you get now. They just did QE this week. So your money is already worth less now.

We need people to start to understand that any time the government does something with additional money, WE are the ones paying for it.
