We knew it was coming sooner rather than later, but no matter what it is a piece of American history.
I don't care how you feel about any of them, I thought it was cool that this picture is of the most former presidents to ever be alive at one time.

Like I said, this man and his whole family were pure fricking evil. I don't know why everybody's got the case of the sads. He lived much longer than he deserve to.

Read the article. It was decently sudden. He could have been beside him earlier that week for all I know. Obama was.

he may have been the last of the old school
There's no "may" about it. GHW Bush was the last of the WWII generation to hold the office after almost 50 years
Eisenhower served in the Army during WWII.
Kennedy served in the Navy during WWII.
LBJ served in the Navy during WWII.
Nixon served in the Navy during WWII.
Ford served in the Navy during WWII.
Carter went to the Naval Academy during WWII and was later a submariner
Reagan did not serve.
GHW Bush served in WWII.
After that, the only military service was 43's stint in the ANG, to the best of my memory. 41 DEFINITELY marked a changing of the guard.
ETA: Apparently, I was wrong and Reagan did serve during WWII. I never knew that. Those guys later in the thread did. I edited to keep this thread from filling up with people pointing out my mistake.

Of course everyone is coming out of the woodwork and saying Zomg he was evil blah blah. I'm so fricking sick of this partisan politics bull shite. The other side is not your enemy.
It’s not liberals on here saying that. No partisan politics, it’s the flyover country conspiracy mongers who just can’t keep up with modern globalized world and think the Bushes are part of some elaborate plot to keep them down

I did not know that. I stand corrected.

Only president I have ever seen. The Woodlands for the senior tour. Was hoping to see Jack Niclaus, Gary Player, Lee Trevino and Arnie. All showed up but Arnie, he was filling ill at the time. But lo and behold, George H.W. showed up to see them off the first tee.

Worked with a guy who was attached to HMX-1, Marine One Squadron and he said the Bushes were some of the nicest people you would ever want to meet.

Totally wrong. Bush didn't need Thatcher to prompt him to act.
