My thoughts - don't give up your biggest bargaining chip beforehand.
If she has significantly more assets, then let it be. If things fall apart then you can try to bargain not touching her assets for a fair deal.

Her personal property before marriage, and her inheritance after marriage, are not community property. They are her personal property and you can't touch them.

No. I have started looking into basic marriage terms. It is classified as a separate asset. Uptownsage mentioned something and I fact checked it. The only way it becomes a marriage asset is if community funds are used to maintain, repair, renovate the asset. As long as it is never mixed with community funds or assets it will remain completely hers.

If she's the one with more to lose why bring it up? She'll think you are already planning your exit.

I am looking up prenups as we speak...I think it has nothing to do with planning exits.
I think it removes selfish entitlements that could effect the overall happiness of your marriage.
1.) you can keep fiances separate
2.) keep property in your family
3.) define who gets what in a divorce
4.) clarify responsibilities in a marriage
I think honestly this is what both of us want and I am going to talk it over with her and a bottle of wine.

Inheritance is not community property unless she deposits it into a joint account. If she keeps it separate from other assets, she doesn't have to share anything with you. You sound like a douche anyway. I hope she reads this before she gets saddled with a loser.

That "milk" might taste a little gamey, seeing as you can't milk a mule.

Also, IMO don't bring up the prenup.
While I agree with your auto insurance comparison, most women don't think like that.
Plus, sounds like not having one could be more advantageous to you should things run sour.
