Predicament regarding roommate solicitating a third roommate who of course wound up gay

Long story short, my roommate and I live in a three bedroom house and we’re trying to find someone else to live with us.
He crossfits and asked if he could ask his gym members if anyone would be interested, I said no problem.
Asks the gym on their Facebook page and the only dude he says responded is a complete flaming fairy. Like not just gay and subtle about it, but very vocal about himself being gay.
Now I, personally, have no problem with gay people because it affects my life zero. But if one lived with me my life would be affected and I would not be okay with it. I tell my roommate this and he agrees.
Well now my roommate has no idea what to say to this dude. He is going to be offended either way. No way to avoid it, it’s honestly probably why he said he was interested.
Any idea what to say without having the entire LGBQT community picketing outside our house and outing our identities as homophobes?

I live in Lower Greenville of Dallas. Bars are within walking distance, shits not cheap. I’m not a baller.
But i’m single so there is no reason to waste money down here on a 1-bedroom.

I've seen some of the guys my gay friends have dated, and they are pretty fat/slobbish. Just because you're gay doesn't magically mean you hit the gym and wear designer clothes
