I’ve done some very stupid things in my life, most of my posts here, included. But if you get a vasectomy without telling the wife, you are by far the dumbest mother fricker to walk the face of the earth.

Difference in your approaches:

1. Your wife is talking with you and wants more children. She appears to love her family and wants to explain it.
2. You are going behind her back and taking the decision off the table.

Just talk to her. I did the same to my wife. I told her I loved her. I told her I loved our kids.

But our youngest was almost 6 and to have another child would delay our “empty nest”when we can go back to dating each other and spending time together like we used to.

I told her “I want to spend time with you more than I want to sacrifice my time for another child” - “we will get more children (hopefully) as grandparents.

We are now empty nesting and the dating has never been better!

That's what happens when you marry crazy. My wife made my vasectomy appointment and drove me to it.

Pilot twist: that's his plan all along and he plans to use that to get through the divorce without losing half of his shite.

First, it's an awful idea to make a decision like that without out your wife's knowledge. Second, stop being a pussy. Kid's are awesome. I wanted two. My wife wanted 4. We compromised with 4. The news of the 4th felt like a gut punch. I'm embarrassed by that reaction because number 4 may be the sweetest one of the lot. Sometimes I even wish we had more.

If your wife just likes being pregnant, then tell her to be a surrogate to help fill the void that you are taking away with this vasectomy
