Yes. The ER doctors cleaned him up the best they could and took my wife and me into the room to say goodbye. I kissed his little head, ran my hand through his hair one last time and told him "I love you my son".
Well I just read what my worst nightmare looks like.
This is the only thing in life that really puts fear into me.
Mr Redstick I can’t possibly understand what y’all are going through but I sincerely wish you the very best .

Glucagon is also given for beta blocker overdoses, which is where you will see it given intravenously. It is very rarely used IV for low blood glucose.
Yep. Also given for food stuck in throat I believe. I can't remember what got me rambling about glucagon.

Were you and your wife ever told what went wrong?

Just an update for anyone who has been following our story. We received the results back from the Harris County medical examiners office this morning. He passed away on March 11th so this has been a long wait time for some sort of news. Unfortunately, the results came back "Undetermined".
I asked a series of questions to try and understand why it was undetermined and the medical examiner informed me that after many lab tests and consultations with pediatric and other specialists that they could find nothing physically wrong with our son that would have caused him to suffer a cardiac arrest. So as of now I'm not sure where that leaves us. If there was nothing wrong with him, why did he suffer a cardiac arrest while under the care of a doctor for what now appears to be a stomach virus?
Not the news we were hoping for and to compound the grief his 3rd birthday would have been tomorrow, the 27th. I'm not really sure where to go from here. My question of why my son passed away remains unanswered.

Damn man. That’s horrible. I’m so sorry for your loss and hope that one day you can at least find enough of an answer to maybe help you guys be at peace. I can’t imagine something like that. And the people who are supposed to have the answer simply don’t.
I’ll be praying for you guys.

I know you and your wife probably want some closure and the medical examiner didn’t provide that. Have you considered hiring an investigator to do some digging? I’m no doctor, but an otherwise healthy 2 year old suddenly going into cardiac arrest with no underlying heart issues seems implausible.

I’m terribly sorry Red. I don’t have kids yet, but I hope to be as caring a father as you are. Stay strong for your wife, she needs you now more then ever and you probably need her anymore. Pray, it helps. And continue to be a great man like we all think you are.

I have followed your story and it brings tears to my eye. May your family and friends be there to keep you going.
So very, very sorry.

This is the first I’m seeing this, but it’s really hitting me hard. I have a 4 year old son, and I can’t imagine having to go through what you’ve gone through. Prayers for you and your family.

You and your wife are incredibly strong people. I will say a prayer for you tomorrow on the difficult day. He is having a birthday with Jesus tomorrow.
