A close friend of mine lost his wife this morning after giving birth to a healthy baby boy. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.

Heard the same news. Their Facebook page is heart breaking. Pictures of the ultra sound, and the gender announcement and how excited they were. This is terrible, terrible news.

That is horrible to hear. Were her pregnancy complications known on the front end or was this completely out of the blue?

That is hard. I know someone that went through the same thing a couple of years ago. He all need tangible help. Do all you can for him and don't forget to pray. Just don't leave it at prayer alone.

Prayers for the family. They will need lots of support and love.
When people in my generation began having kids, there were a few cases where life threatening complications (hemorrhaging IIRC) arose. You don't hear much about it, but the possibilities still exist. This is a primary reason I've never understood why some people would have a child at home with a midwife.

I don’t think they would mind it being posted here. It’s all over twitter if you follow anything about LSU baseball. It’s Alden Cartwright’s sister in law. He posted stuff on twitter and even has a pic of his brother with his newborn son. It’s absolutely heartbreaking to see.
