Golf carts are just Walmart mobility carts for middle-class neighborhoods.

Try walking or riding a bike.

Here's my proposal -

St. Tammany adopt an ordinance whereby anyone who takes a picture of these kids riding around in golf carts shall be awarded $100. The parents of each kid caught in one of these golf carts shall be fined no less than $500.

Given that this is a complete fricking epidemic on the Northshore, St. Tammany would clean up. They can then lower our property and sales taxes to something that’s even remotely fricking reasonable.

If all those atv's, motorcycles, etc are allowed on the streets in BR, then so can golf carts. At least they're quieter.

lol that will just end up with a bunch of angry women driving around videoing kids on their phones while driving, which might be even worse

Pay people to take unsolicited pics of minors? Think we found the guy we need to keep an eye on.

Arrest the parents

The father of the teen has been issued a misdemeanor summons.

BRUSLY —- Brusly Police issued a misdemanor summons Monday to the father of the 13-year-old girl who was driving a golf cart involved in a crash Saturday afternoon.

Ryan Jeansonne, 37, was issued a ticket for with misdemeanor improper supervision of a minor by a parent and then released, police said. A summons does not require the person to be booked so there is no mugshot.

The crash also led to the arrest of a 38-year-old Prairieville woman for hit-and-run driving and obstruction of justice. Adriel Nicole Smith has since been released on a $60,000 bond.

Brusly Police have said the 13-year-old golf cart driver could also face charges. Another 13-year-old girl was in the golf cart with her at the time of the crash.

“Everyone involved in this incident was in the wrong,” Brusly Police investigators say.

The girls in the golf cart were heading down W. St. Francis Street near Elaine Street when the wreck happened around 2:15 p.m. on Sept. 12.

Brusly officers say the golf cart’s driver was attempting to turn left onto Elaine St. At the same time, Smith, the driver of a grayish blue Mercedes SUV, was attempting to pass the golf cart in passing zone. That’s when the SUV’s right passenger side hit the golf cart, causing it to flip on its side.

Smith is said to have then fled the scene, officers said. She was arrested Sunday evening.

The girls on the golf cart had minor injuries.

“The suspect who struck the golf cart should not have fled the scene or attempted to conceal the vehicle by having it towed. However, investigators also determined that the golf cart was not street legal, and state law is clear that it should not have been operated on a public roadway by two juveniles,” Brusly PD shared.

Yep Wasn't she allowed to pass and be in the LH lane? To me, it looks like the kids in the golf cart are at fault for the accident.

Their family and friends say they were turning left but if that’s the way they turn (by drifting into the left lane) then tit further shows they should have never been in the road to begin with. The woman should face consequences for leaving but their parents should also. It looked to me like they were both driving carelessly.
