Looking at a job at Relativity space but don't know where I would live. Any suggestions? I see picayune, slidell, bay st Louis, and pass Christian. 30 min is around the most I'd do for commute. TIA

Also have young kids so schools are important

I used to work out there. Diamondhead is closest to the East, with Waveland (don’t recommend) and Bay St Louis as the next options. I moved to Gulfport which was about 45 minutes away. Slidell is closest to the West, but I didn’t want to live in St. Tammany.

I don't know the traffic patterns down there, but I'd probably rule out Diamondhead first.

Bay St.Louis if you want to be on the water or in Old Town near the restaurants/bars

Diamondhead if you are into golf and the country club life

Slidell if you do drugs

BSL and Pass have good school options. Picayune is good too if you are looking for more of a rural "country" setting. Diamondhead is ok but you'll be driving to BSL for everything. There's Kiln to consider as well if you want a sizeable piece of property.

Insurance rates will be a lot cheaper in the Picayune area versus the other areas you listed. And yes, it’s a big difference

Diamondhead is 1 exit East of where you can get to Texas Flat Rd, which is the back way into Stennis from the I-10 corridor. It’s also West of the Buckee’s construction that’s currently underway, so you wouldn’t have to deal with that.

Dhead and BSL are easily the best options if you’re working at Stennis.

Dhead would be easiest commute, but it's a golf/retirement area. Just going to Rouse's makes me want to pull my hair about behind the old folks driving 15mph. Pass for schools (assume you're looking public only?) and still easy commute + wide range of options. There's some real nice and real crap in BSL/Waveland.

My dad commuted out there from LB every day for 20+yrs. I personally wouldn't want to commute from any further East than that.
