OK, I like the top picture of both of them laying down, side by side just looking up.. Like "really? why are you taking our picture"..

Are they connected? As in if one isn't around the other doesn't know what to do with themselves?

Yes, thank you or asking. We got the hound mix first. We had to put her down a few months ago. Sweetest animal in the world. We had her for 17 years.

The Chihuahua mix had a seizure a couple of years ago and we had to put him down first. He was a cantankerous SOB in the later years. Would bite people, including my daughter. Should have put him down after that, but he was a part of the family, so we let him continue his reign of terror over the next couple of years.

They were waiting patiently for their treats.

Come to think of it, they have never been apart. We even bring them to their appointments and grooming together. I think they probably would both mope if we separated them.

Rocco is 2 years older than Ripley and he loved her instantly. Sometimes we say that she is his dog.

Yep, he loved a good rabbit chase. Best natured dog I ever met, 100%. never wanted to bite or hurt anyone, and never did. Just wanted to get to know everyone and say hello.

Lola, Ruffas and Thoven (not pictured) were also rescues.

Eli is sort of a rescue. We purchased him but it was clear theat the previous owner had no understanding of the breed. You have to know what you're getting into.

We got to the point with HTZ Giant Schnauzer rescue that there was no process for us to go through. When we were ready we could just pick one out and he/she would go home with us that day. No fees, nothing.

I feel your pain. Hardest thing I've ever done and I've now had to do it three times. Thoven dropped dead on a walk with my wife. frick people who abuse dogs. He was so malnurished when he was young that I think it compromised his system and led to his early death at 8.
