90% of the people I work with are not using their degree other than a check box on their curriculum vitae.

I should have either worked on a meteorology degree or went into education.
If I would have gone the education route, I would have worked my way up to a masters degree and would be hopefully working in administration level position. I would considering retirement before age 50.

Automation and instrumentation degree from community college at 27. Getting my bachelors in applied technology at 42, graduate next may. Been offshore doing controls work since 27. I’m sitting here now while two engineers solve a controls problem remotely. This role I have will soon be phased out by remote technology. Hoping the bachelors and 15 years experience gets me some more options after graduating next year.
As for regrets of the degree, it was absolutely the best idea I’ve ever dreamed up. Starting making 6 figures immediately and came a long way financially in 15 years.

I treaded my way to a marketing degree, and considered changing it for all 6 years. I enjoyed and was recruited to both statistics and philosophy. I didn’t bother changing once I zeroed in on law school. Then she went and got pregnant and I went to work. Two decades later, I have a marketing degree, yet I work with statistics and take a philosophical approach.

Nope, probably could have made better career choices.
Wish I could have been an industrial designer though…I think that was my jam. Didn’t even know that was a job until I already had one after college though.

I should have stuck with Microbiology and not gone to LSU.

Checking in as one of the first Construction Management degrees from LSU. Or at least before the rush happened.
After 10 years of eating PB&J sandwiches, I am earning a great living in O&G…as an executive in Marketing and business development.

Have a Welding Engineering degree and MBA. The MBA was free, my work paid for it.
Think I would have been a lot happier being a mechanic like my grandpa or welding or in construction/building stuff.

Poli sci .. But learned from my brothers: Don't change schools or majors and definitely don't do both at the same time if you want to graduate
So I stuck with poli sci. Loved the advertising classes I took though.
But in hindsight had grandparents uncles and cousins as ship/tug Captain's.... Should have used those connections

I should’ve invented the iPhone instead

Yeah. Dude here with a BSN. Be doing it 25 years and regretting it for 20.

My papa told me if you bust your arse and are the best at what you do you will be successful...ditch diggers run the ditch digger company, truck drivers run other truck drivers, etc...he was right - I have 2 finance degrees and I'm pretty good in the industry...but the guys I've worked with that are the biggest producers didn't graduate college and were hustlers making 5mm a year

Got a CS degree before it was cool and only did it because I didn’t want to take the extra math classes to continue in ME. It couldn’t have worked out any better for me

Accounting. Probably should have done Computer Science or Information Systems

The fact that they issued me a degree at all is absolutely wrong.

My undergrad degree was means to an end to my post-grad degree, so that’s just whatever. But I’ll say that I had no idea that someone could go to college to be a commercial airline pilot. If I had known that, I’d make about 20-40% more money than I do now (from what I understand), with a fraction of the student loan debt.

Not wrong exactly but I have a BS in chemical and biomolecular engineering but I am a sales engineer and I work outside. Didn't need any degree for that but it did get my foot in the door.
