I learned how to drive in this car. 5.0 V-8 I remember it having power. Hell, my dad used to tow his 20' Ranger bass boat with it.

I walked or rode my bike. That's how we rolled back then.

Me and my entire neighborhood walked or road bikes. My house was about a mile away and I used my stingray bike. The city had 2 police ladies who would were at the cross walks across the main road. I can remember there were hundreds of bikes parked at the elementary school.
Junior high was similar but with 10 speeds, mail carts and motor cycles.
The 60's & 70's were a great time to grow up!

The ole RT as we called it was not in great shape in 1983. Those cars just did not last without a lot of love and care. If my parents had kept it though it would be worth a good bit of money nowadays.

It was wartime with rationing and times were tough. Because of having kids to take to school on rutted mud roads, dad traded off his Dodge sedan for something more suitable for the roads that we had. Unless the weather was bad we walked the two miles to school and back each day on those dirt (not graveled) roads, and yes, it seemed like it was uphill both ways.

Amazing evolution in vehicles in 50 years.
Mrs Füt brought the youngins to school in this from ‘93 to 2000
And then in this from 2000 on-
(Not pics of our actual vehicles, close approximations)

Still remember the shocks being shot, and my brother, who was in 9th or 10th grade, keeping his head hidden in complete embarrassment.
