Decepticons and Cobra were awesome.

Looking back on it now, I totally agree. But 6 or 7 year old me wanted Optimus Prime and Sgt. Slaughter.

Damn that castle grayskull is way better than mine was.

That's because it's not the original. It was re-released a few years ago in "Classics" form.

Mattel hired some of the best toy designers in the world (the four horsemen) to redesign Masters of the Universe toys for adult collectors. The figures came out amazing, and so did the Castle.

This is a comparison photo of The original that came out in the 80's (left) the "Classics" Castle Grayskull (center) and one that came in in like 2002 when they relaunched the cartoon and figures. (yes, I'm a huge He-Man dork I know, haha)

Pre-80s, but I always wanted one.

May still wind up getting me one.

My older brother always got the good toys while I was stuck with the shittier ones. He got the Autobots while I was stuck with the Decepticons. He got GI Joe while I settled for Cobra. And he got the lion Voltron set while I was stuck with this Voltron money grab:

That second voltron with the cars etc, was HUGE. I remember it being a couple inches taller than my Lion one. I was a voltron fanatic. I had both, but always loved the lions more.

I asked for this every freaking year, but my parents wouldn't, for whatever reason. I need to buy one for myself now that I'm old.

Same here. My parents kept on saying some shite about Consumer Reports giving it a bad grade. I didn't care about any of that shite, I just wanted a fricking hovercraft dammit.
