Finer establishments do this already, but how plausible do you see more casual places going to this tolimit exposure, at least for a few months or so?

No more walk in and be seated. If full, gotta find something else.

Not even going to think what they'll try to make bars do. That life may be a shell of what it was for a long time.

In the future, it will be no different. Maximize dollar per square foot. Whining Karens will have moved on to the next hysteria.

Hello Chili’s, I’d like to reserve a table for two. Just me and my special lady. Please have chips and salsa on the table upon arrival.

Tables 6 feet apart
Wait staff to wear gloves
Food trucks to become more common
No more to go boxes

Just off the top of my head

Well Chili's already has the application infrastructure to allow people to queue up in line virtually and be notified when their table is ready. I'm guessing they will at least try that first with some limited capacity on the restaurant itself. I'm guessing all restaurants that have that capability will do that first.

Well, just like the rest of us, your wife will just have to adjust to the "new normal".

Explain that to her and see if it works.

This. We let restaurants go first. Make sure they only seat half of their normal capacity. Rez only.

OP has absolutely no idea how profit margins for restaurants work.

Oh...trust me, I do.

But that has nothing to do with what restaurants may have to do going forward.
