Maybe that's the solution - charge $50 admission to the mall and that admission fee could be used as credit to buy something. Most people who buy something at the mall are already going to spend at least $50 anyway.
Malls like Riverwalk do this to a degree via parking validation. Either pay X to park or spend at least $20 and bring receipts to a store for validation.

Baw, malls are dying as it is. You're just wanting to insert the knife right into its heart with that.

Do we have the contact information for the judge who released this kid? What is his email? What is his direct reports email? How do we start putting pressure on them?

Same with Juban
The car parks right by the door in front of Belk/Academy/Old Navy and the thief walks right out into the car.
Not much theft at the Barnes & Noble, though.

When is this thread title going to be updated? It wasn't at Dicks and it was indeed a shooter(s), not a possible shooter. At least 6 injured, 1 dead

I don't go to Juban often, but I go there more than the Mall or anywhere in Baton Rouge. I haven't seen much thuggery at Juban Crossing.

Chris Rock agrees.

quote:. Yea I mentioned earlier in this thread they should start making plans on tearing that mall down. When they tore the the Hammond Square Mall down years ago I thought it was a bad idea, I was wrong it was brilliant. It’s spread out now, Thugs and Thugettes aren’t standing outside in the heat. Juban is built nice also. Malls like M. O. L. are outdated. It was already so bad they had a curfew, now after this people that are going to shop aren’t gonna go there. It’s just a matter of time now before JC Pennys, Macys , Dicks or Dillard’s say that’s enough and moves out. Once that happens it will be a domino effect
That would require them to actually buy something and not just walk around hanging out stoned all day. Maybe that's the solution - charge $50 admission to the mall and that admission fee could be used as credit to buy something. Most people who buy something at the mall are already going to spend at least $50 anyway.

If the police keep asking or want the publics help, why won't they release the security footage from the mall security cameras? They have to have multiple cameras that show the shooting.
Is it because they don't want us to know

What was Mayor Sid's response to this?
the typical platitudes and lip service paid to every tragedy by every politician in these situations:
this will not stand
police responded quickly
our T&Ps are with the families
our community is safe
the food court is a safe place with delicious meals.
He was up there last night with the BRPD capt. and some FBI agent from NOLA all delivering the same bullshite excuses for the event while simultaneously jerking each other off for the quick response. Anything to control the narrative that they aren't doing their jobs. Its such a shitshow.
Sherriff Sid posted a similar response on FB.
"To Protect and Serve". I'd say you failed that mission boys. Try preventing it next time. And if you want guidance on that, go look at Pat Englade's statement regarding this event. I was no fan of his tenure, but he was spot on with his response.

IDGAF what the mayor or police chief says. I want f**king cameras in this judges face.

We don't need to tear anything down.
We need to restore civil society with harsh punishments and quick executions of people who are proven guilty of murder.
Legislature is in session. Many people need to show up and demand it. That would get some attention. Our government is supposed to be by the people, for the people.

Not as prevalent in Baton Rouge - but TJ Maxx is scary at times
I’ve seen some Livingston parish baws stop a guy at the door of bath & body works - he had two hand baskets of candles that he didn’t pay for

I’d like to see Lafayette and BR picket that POS’ office. Daily, until he’s gone.

As if anyone would be shopping at that mall today anyway.

He reminded us of the swift response time to this shooting instead of telling us how the mall is perpetually understaffed with security.
It really was sickening to sit there and listen to that press conference. Nothing but congratulations and thank yous for first responders and no apology for letting scum like this back out on the streets. No accountability from leadership and no one calling the situation exactly what it was.
