Originally, the contractor said that he tore down the correct house and doesn't know what happened to Smith's. However, when called a second time, the contractor's story changed. He said he isn't even a contractor and he hired someone to tear both houses down as a favor for the condemned house's property owner. The man then asked WBRZ not to call him again and threatened legal action.

How the hell do you tear down a house without quadruple checking it's the right one, and that the person telling you to do it has the authority to do so?

how is it that a guy, not even a contractor can tell another guy to go tear down houses and no one bothers to make sure it's the right house?

Feel very bad for the woman- if story is true she is due a new house but I am afraid she will see nothing. Sounds like a few crooks did this and they will not have any $$$.
