It’s always been trashy, shocking, I know, much like the overwhelming majority of Tangipahoa Parish.

I just left after being there since 8am. I’ve been to every festival they’ve had and this one is by far the most amount of people I’ve seen in town. Buddy of mine sent me a drone picture he took earlier of the crowd and it’s packed!! Heading back in the morning!
I started go but backed out. Those crowds were fun when we were kids but I just don’t think I could get into it. I watched our boy K with SBO doing live videos that was enough for me lol

We live within sight of the Strawberry Festival grounds. The festival was abruptly shutdown d/t shots fired. The band stopped mid song and people were running down our street. It is surreal how quickly it became silent.

It was away from the festival grounds but that doesn’t really matter.
Had a friend say it looked like a 15 y/o non swimmer was doing the shooting

So he was standing on hickory in front of the Episcopal Church shooting back toward 6th street. Wow that is a miracle if no one was hit that is shooting back toward the 6th street the main way to the grounds for most ppl. One of our classmates that graduated with me has the first 2 booths on the west side of 6th street so they would have been in the line of fire. Wow, I knew something like this would eventually happen. So many ppl crammed into a small space and ppl just don’t care anymore, fricking no swimming assholes.

Louisiana can’t have anything nice because there will always be some piece of shite who gets into some bullshite argument and starts shooting.

It's becoming more of an occurrence at festivals and functions down here.

These stupid fricking trashy retards are what's wrong with the world today.

I hate ignorant fricks like this, no matter where you go somebody has to ruin an otherwise good thing.

Lots of people were just trying to enjoy the festivities...

Grew up down there. Went all the time. Haven't been in 10+ years.

Hell one year my paw paw got drunk, decided to hop in his fully restored model A drive it to the festival, win the car show, drive it home.

That second pic is only a couple of hundred feet from where the shooting happened. This is the crowd he would have been shooting into. Hopefully it was a lot thinner at 9:30 at night. Haven't heard anything about any injuries so that is good.

Since it was “away from the parade grounds” there probably won’t be much reporting on it. Being such a big money maker, organizers probably want this to go away quickly.
