In fairness, Jet Blue is for poors so none of us are seeing it live.
OTers have private jets.

There are multiple safe ways on the ground for the crew to let the tower know they lost coms and weren't in an emergency situation.
Instead of having police board and make everyone put their hands up and sit there for an hour and a half.

All 3 radios failed, however it's a new plane so there's supposed to be 2 backups if one fails. Shouldn't have happened

Even will full radio failure there are safe ways to let tower know.
Hell, even then it would fine to break company rules and bust out your cell phone to call Ops to bring you a tug.

Sat next to a flight attendant recently. (Off duty). She told me the whole put your device on airplane mode was bs. Your thoughts?
She had her phone out most of the flight

Absolutely. This plane went through maintenance inspections at JFK all day yesterday so something must have been off with the electrical or wiring

She's right, bunch of BS

"It's never been proven that a mobile phone signal has interfered with the navigation performance of the aircraft. But just because it's never happened doesn't mean it will never happen," a pilot tells Business Insider.
But the real reason airlines in the U.S. make you put your phone on "Airplane Mode" is because of the Federal Communications Commission.
FCC regulations ban the use of cell phones on planes in order to "protect against radio interference to cell phone networks on the ground." Meaning at 40,000 feet in the air, active cell phones would be picking up service from multiple cell towers on the ground. This could crowd the networks on the ground and disrupt service.

Fact of the thread. Plus I can’t imagine being couped in there listening to people yapping on the phone the whole flight

What’s the safe way to let the tower know all your radios are out? Roll down the windows and yell?

I am wondering this as well....lots of posts that it can be done, but none give any indication of how they do it.
