Police Officer revives 3 year old

Feel Good Story of the Day!
GRANBURY, Texas — The moment a 3-year-old boy was revived by a Granbury officer was captured on dashcam video.
According to police, Officer Chase Miller was scanning EMS channels when he heard a call about a young boy who was unresponsive outside a fast food restaurant on the night of Oct. 12, 2016. Miller arrived at the scene about one minute later.
Upon his arrival, Miller saw a distressed mother holding the child. He immediately began CPR.

man that made me tear up
crazy how much having a son changes the way you look at the world, a year ago that video would not have had an affect on me
just cant imagine something happening to my boy and I can't imagine being the parent in this situation

People never know how they will react. Four people standing there in just a flailing and hand wringing mess. Can't fault them though. At least they had the snap to call 911.
I've been handed two kids like that. One in the comfy confines of an ER triage. That's easy. Just take him (basically kidnapped the boy) and run to the back. The other was at a YMCA. It sucked arse for a couple seconds there at a YMCA. Thankfully kid was just choking on a goddamned dust bunny she had decided to eat. I had just walked out of the gym too. All fricking sweaty and nasty. I remember thinking "another reason to say 'frick leg day'".

I'd like to take a class for cpr on babies/little kids
if something like that happened id like to get started before the pros arrive
I assume they offer these classes at hospitals or something?

Best one of those dash cam videos is the cop who rolls up on a "doll" after a tornado. "Doll" starts to move. He puts that baby on the hood and checks it over. You can tell he is squalling and shaking from emotion.

They should teach them at the american red cross center or if you have a national safety council center near you, and you should be able to look up certified CPR trainers on their respective websites. I am a certified basic FA/CPR/AED trainer and we register through whichever certification body we take the training through.

Had to do CPR on my 1 month old a few months ago. He was on a breathing monitor for a couple months and is doing fine now. Wannabe is right, you never know how you will react but luckily my wife and I were able to get a 911 operator to lead us through CPR until the medics arrived.
Please for the love of god, take a CPR class. Even if you don't have kids, you can help save someone's life.

My 3 year old had a febral seizure about 6 months ago. Thats come scary shite. Kudos to this man.
