And that's only because of the 9/11 attacks. Exclude those, and this is the worst year for deaths in law enforcement since the mid-90s. I wonder why that is?

CNN article

surprising that the 2019 #’s are that low considering all the peaceful protests that year

Outside of 95, it spikes every 10 years... 01, 11, 21. Probably a coincidence, but it's the only pattern i see upon first look.

Some die in non felony auto accidents, others die from health issues, some are accidentally shot by coworkers

I get there are other ways that could be non-felonies. Was a Tongue in cheek comment.

Do wonder if they include K9s in these stats.

They are already excluded if you read the note at the bottom. Still crappy numbers.

That's not enough. They deserved it too. They know what they are doing when they sign up.

How many unarmed black men were killed by cops? Id be willing to bet it’s less than 10, just like every year.

They all sacrificed so Saint Floyd's friends could live.

Makes me wonder what the hell was going on in the early 90’s with so many police officer deaths.

I know I’m preaching to the choir here, but I’m really tired of hearing people say “gun violence “ like it’s some sort of disease. It’s the criminals that are the disease.

That was really the peak of urban/drug crime. Crime stats plateaued in the 60’s and started dropping off in the early/mid nineties. Lots of contributing factors as to why.

Why when the ones we have are already ineffective?

I'd rather spend the money on something that will actually make an impact.

They should probably stop chasing down fake racial bullshite and arresting people for selling drugs, and lock up actual criminals. You wouldn't need any more resources than they currently have.

Not always their fault that they are ineffective
They can keep arresting criminals, when judges & DA’s let them go there’s not much else they can do

Kid broke into a friends house 1st day EBR started the school year
2 weeks later he broke back in
2 weeks later he & a friend showed up with a U haul & walked out with a safe full of ammo
Both had guns on their hips from camera footage
Both were 16 & had long records
