Here is a link to a study which discusses how subtle neck injury can result in blunt cerebrovascular injury.
Essentially, a small tear promotes clot formation which can then be thrown into the circle of willis and cause a CVA (stroke). It can also lead to dissection of the carotid and eventual rupture. Chiropractic manipulation is dangerous pseudoscience

I think chiro manipulation can be effective treating joints, shoulders, extremities and shite like that. But I wouldn't let anybody adjust my neck ever for any reason. Frick that

I was going to see a chiropractor about my back. Nope.

Short-term benefits are unproven, and there are no good studies suggesting a mechanism of benefit. There's too much risk of injury from the practice and almost no evidence to support it. Here's a sytematic review.

This is why you see real doctor

The American Medical Association considered chiropractic therapy a cult into the 1980s. The one time I considered going to see one, I talked to a doctor first who gave me some muscle relaxers that solved the problem in a couple days.
