I’m tired of buying over the counter meds and getting a bottle that could hold 100 pills but only has 14 in it.

Do you think the company that makes those bottles is just carelessly using more plastic or is it because:

A) it standardizes size and difficulty to open for old people and people in general

B) the universal size gives flexibility for pill amounts given the uncertain nature of pill quantities and possible container shortages in emergency situations

C) the current size optimizes manufacturing process in terms of cost and efficiency already

Did you even take 2 seconds to think about these issues?

You want custom sized pill bottles?

Are you for real?

The one about never been in a hospital. Just had a lithotripsy done last week to break up a massive kidney stone and have had 9 surgeries in the past 25 years. I'm a fricking vet when it comes to hospitals.

I was being facetious first off.

And are you saying the use of plastic in the healthcare industry could be easily replaced?

Imagine the cost of healthcare if you mandated no plastic could be used there.

There so much detail and research that goes into each plastic used in medical devices and materials that it's literally a billion dollar industry.

The crazy thing is that the ancient Roman’s invented it but we forgot how to make it because Christians started the dark ages

We can definitely cut back on our plastic bottle use, especially in water bottles.

You are not too good at reading between the lines are you? If jumping to conclusions was an Olympic event, you'd win gold.

Nowhere did I say it should be totally replaced, but there are areas that something else could be used to ease the amount of plastics that eventually get dumped into the environment.

Plastic is the cornerstone of planned obsolescence. Without it, things could be repaired.

Plastic shatters and breaks after a time period (plus heat plus sunlight). Car interiors rot, in their own special way. Leather car seats outlast dashboards.

Plastic jars...for long term storage are a laugh.

I had a max min thermometer: the thermometer part in glass is still good, sadly the plastic that had the temperature gradations failed catastrophically and it had not had 'that' much exposure to sunlight.

Pyrolyzed plastics is the oncoming revolution in plastics recycling. It is what has been hoped for - a practical way to reuse plastics by returning them to the fundamental building blocks they were made from where they can be utilized as fuels or even as the raw material to remake plastics again.

The technology is in its infancy, but it's tremendously promising. This is the hoped for practical, sustainable recycling technology.

One burger and fries = 350 lbs of plastic packaging.

Wasn't there a biodegradable plastic being produced made out of corn by-products?

So you're saying if I bought 7 happy meals it would require more than a ton of plastic to produce it?

I don’t have to be a scientist with a revolutionary idea to understand that plastic needs to be reduced

Facetiously...yes.

That is why I prefer the Sonics. Well, less plastic and OT fights.
