Yah for $10 a month, 1 mile from my house and 24/7 it's a steal.

I went and checked out the one in Gonzales yesterday. Its not bad. Sure they had some fatties in there but also had some guys that took working out pretty seriously. Nobody seemed to be bothering them.
For a years membership it would cost me $9.10 a month for 24/7 access. Hard to beat that since my wife is paying $44 month just for herself at snap.

I'd rather not work out than go to the McDonalds of gyms.

I have been going to the one in Gonzales for about three weeks. In that time I have only heard the alarm one time. Someone dropped the plates on one of the cables pretty hard. All of the other stories appear to just be bullshite.

I can't imagine that any other place would allow people to just start dropping weights and potentially damaging equipment and not say anything. PF just has that alarm, and it is kinda funny.

I got the $20 membership, so that I can bring my 13 year old daughter as a guest, free, and every time I go.

There is no squat rack, but there is a leg press. There is no full barbell for bench, but there are some lighter bars, easy curl bars, for curls and such. They really like smith machines. And the dumbbells go up to somewhere around 70 lbs, despite stories that they only go to 40

I know this was long, but wanted to try a get some truth into this thread

Are there better gyms? of course
Is PF a gym? I would call it a health club
Are there better health clubs for $10/20? No

guess that's why it's 10 bucks a month

Sure, you just gotta ask yourself, is a squat rack (instead of using the leg press or squats with dumbbells) and a full barbell (instead of using dumbbells) really worth $30 extra a month

and I forgot to mention, the PF in Gonzales is soooo much bigger than the Snap by my house. That was really a big factor for me

i'm curious to see how this concept works out in the long term, they are going into some high priced real estate and the build outs look expensive even without all the free weights. Only charging $10 a month just doesn't seem like it would add up after the buzz is gone. I pay $100 and supposedly my gym is struggling.

I was thinking the same thing the other day. Maybe they are a cover for a really big dope operation

and the one I go to is open 24/7, with at least two employees always there. It is difficult to see how they are covering costs

One of them took out the squat rack because someone found it intimidating
