NOLA xtreme fitness closed its doors around thanksgiving--it was a dump but it was $30 a month and never crowded--so it looks like Anytine fitness will have to be the new gym.
Though I just called to get membership rates and entry fees and the girl said she didn't know and would have someone call me back. Seems odd that a gym wouldn't have a piece of paper with their membership rates at the front desk

While its def odd, they might be in the middle of changing the rates for 2016.

PF is for starting lifting, losing weight, and/or maintaining weight for old folks. They don't have the equipment for actual lifting since they don't have bench equipment or plates for barbell workouts. All they have for that are Smith machines, which does more harm than good. Still don't understand why people do squats and such on smiths. They have TONS of treadmills/elipticals/bikes/stairmills, more than I've seen in any other gym. Lots of lifting machines as well if that's your thing.
I worked out there for a couple of years, lost over 100 lbs. Now I'm shopping around for better equipped gyms to start building muscle - something PF isn't for.
PF is the butt of the jokes, but nobody is going to put a gun to your head and make you eat the pizza. I honestly don't understand why PF does this, it makes no sense to put that in a gym to cater to a crowd that's looking to loose or maintain weight. I'd prefer if they'd take the money they spend on that crap and buy sample packs of supplements like pre workout/aminos/whey/etc.

I figured you would say Calhoun. I was just curious. That's the one I'm usually at.

Smith machines aren't that bad, in my opinion. I don't use them, but I have and they do a really good job isolating the muscles you want to work out. I used a few machines at Planet Fitness and I enjoyed using them.

By the way I saw a resolutioner using the pullup assist machine as a single leg press today - was pretty comical.
Also, if you're going to go to PF, expect to see old dudes strutting naked in the locker room and using the hair dryers to dry off their balls. It's a nightmare in there during the daytime hours.

That's pretty bad.

PF isn't concerned about it's patrons fitness or health. their model is to make their membership prices low enough that the fat fricks on the couch who have a moment of inspiration can rationalize joining because of the price...because THIS time they're really going to dedicate themselves and lose the weight, unlike the previous 27 times they resolved to do that but didn't mean it like they do THIS time. and to prove it, they joined a gym!
and lo and behold...free pizza to get 'em in the door!
so Billy and Billette Fatfrick join the gym and show up 7 times before their resolve dissolves. and PF is making money while saving on the wear and tear of their equipment (this is the real reason why they don't allow heavy lifting...it's contra their business model which depends on their equipment outliving their normal longevity cycle that well-used fitness equipment normally has), and because there are a percentage of Mr. and Ms. Fatfrick in society in general, they cycle through that population pretty regularly.
take a look at the demographics where a PF sets up shop.

Working out is free, go to your garage.

It's a locker room, men only. Use the family room if offended. Never witnessed the hair dryer thing and not sure why someone would burn their balls.

PF where all the other new year 3 month plan people will be.

Bashing PF is the "cool thing" to do.
I've been going to the one on Siegen for a year and enjoy it. I'm in great shape. I don't eat the pizza. There are plenty of guys who I see in there that can clearly lift more than me. It's a gym. You'll never find the perfect gym.
Where else will you find a gym that's that nice, for the price, and open 24 hours?
If you don't like it, don't go. Pretty simple.

New Year's resolution huh? The slobs are already showing up en masse. Just yesterday I had to throw 4 dudes' shite on the floor because they didn't lock their lockers.

I love the "if u wanna eat pizza, PF. If u wanna lift, Anytime" lol. Like anytime is the Mecca of powerlifting. My answer is neither, but given the 2 choices, I'm going with the more updated facility. They both have the same crap machine based equipment. PFs are bigger & cheaper. Anytimes have the reciprocity thing & the lack of that gay arse "link alarm".

whichever is cheaper, why waste money on something you won't use anyway?

And of course my last, and most pivotal question is, which one has the most, hottest chicks?

I like to work out with 125's on bench so as you can see both of them are not for me. But hey...that's just me.
