Wouldn't have happened if he wasn't breaking the law

IMO it would be stupid for a LE officer to think being judged by 12 would be a good idea in this era.

You think they would be better off killed and carried by 6 pallbearers?

IMO, Shoot looks bad but as always we should wait until all info is released beforewe make judgements.

And in ref to Tennessee v Garner....I don't like it in this circumstance. I think you need more than just committed a violent act and fleeing. I think you need more evidence that the person is an imminent risk to public safety if allowed to escape. For example:

-He has made threats of harming other people
-He is willing to kill indiscriminately to further his escape
-He has a history of serial violence

In any other situation you'd be called a coward. Yet somehow cops are still heros.

If someone commits a drive by shooting, and then runs, you have to assume they are armed

I am not waiting for them to turn and aim at me

I call that smart, not cowardly

You can call it blue for all I care. It's cowardly and/or retribution. And if you did that without being a cop, you're going to serve some time. Try it out and let us know how it goes.

from other facts it appears that was a pursuit of suspected felons...armed felons. The cops did what they were trained to do---no way they knew he was not armed. Looks (not just from the video) like this was justified. Hindsight information that he was not armed will not make this a bad shoot. For those of you crucifying these cops; put yourself in their position. What would you have done? Let him turn around and shoot you? Let him take a hostage down the street? Stupid is as stupid does.......

you think the video shows a justified killing?

1) cop received a call about an alleged murder and pulled over a car matching the description
2) he approaches the car to check it out
3) passenger runs and gets shot in the back
4) people that remained in the vehicle, who are presumably just as much of a threat based on your premise, do not get murdered

sorry, doesn't add up.

Glad you're not a cop then.

Obviously rushing to judgment without all the facts is clearly the most logical way to form an opinion on this shoot

are you arguing that a person with their back turned to you is more of a threat than a person behind you? no

So running, justifies, being, killed?

Was those cops so scared for their life, when the dude ran away from them, that, they had to, shoot him, and kill him in the, back?

But seriously, you and anyone else that want to justify the cops killing someone because they ran away (unarmed to boot), is one seriously fricked up person. Hopefully you get caught running from the cops too.

Cops sometimes make bad decisions and some (although a small minority) of them are bad people. I don't think that saying it appears that the cop was in the wrong here makes one anti cop.

I generally support the police although they are asked to enforce some stupid laws.

I'm arguing that someone like you that rushes to judgment without knowing all the facts are complete morons. You are probably sad you are not living in Pittsburgh so you can get a free TV.

Read your bullet points again. I also love the use of "murder" before you have one clue about the underlying details.

You're a hyperbolic mental midget.

If the police thought he was a murder suspect with weapons in vehicle they have an obligation to protect the public. Some of you are so fricking obtuse its scary.

I'm holding off judgment until I get the facts.

Some of you clearly don't care and have pre conceived judgments ready to go.

It really is this simple, isn't it. I don't get how people don't understand this.
