I was blasted for saying this was a bad shoot in the other thread.

Has everyone changed their minds? I left that thread after a while.

- They only assumed it was the same vehicle and did not know for sure
- Cop didn't see him armed and saw that his hands were empty
- Cop shot him in the back as he was running away with empty hands

That is just not ok.

Well...that's a short-lived police career

Not so fast my friend:

•He worked for the Harmar Police Department five years ago.

•He worked for the Oakmont Police Department from 2011-2013.

•He worked for the University of Pittsburgh police from 2012 - January 2018.

Not taking up for the cop (I don't remember this story), but imagine if he let the guy run away and the dude killed a mom and her 2 kids down the street while carjacking them.

You really never know. But you can't kill people over what ifs.

Exactly.

He did not know for sure this kid was even involved in the shooting. He knew he didn't have a gun in his hands. And he shot him in the back running away.

Hell, a lot of young black guys in the hood run from cops. For all he knew, he had pot in the car and didn't want to get arrested for that.

This thread will turn into a prime example of why Police support should not be politicized.

Blindly supporting every decision a police officer makes is just as stupid as the BLM retards and their agenda.

This was clearly a poor decision, and no freedom loving conservative (who are generally the ones running into these threads to defend the officers) should ever be okay with a cop unnecessarily ending someone’s life. That’s the opposite of what living in America is all about.

Seems this officer was quite the winner.

What was the reason for the dismissal? Do we know? I'm sure that'll be brought up in court if it relates to this at all. "Character".

3 seconds of a shaky cell phone video and it looks clear cut to me.

Better than no cell phone video and we just take the cops word for it.

Which happens every day.

Body cams are needed for every officer in America. They protect citizens and police alike.

In your opinion, what makes this a crock of bullshite?

If you shot a guy in the back and killed him as he was running away from you, what would you be charged with, and why should this officer be treated differently?

this isn't the problem here. The problem is did he know that was the guy who was committing the crime.

No, actually, the problem is he shot and killed an unarmed individual who was running away from him and thus posed no threat. Whether or not the guy running had actually committed the crime in question is wholly irrelevant.

I think more and more you will see DAs bring charges and let a jury decide because of backlash they get if they do not.

This one from the cell phone footage definitely looks bad, but I thought the exact same thing the first time I saw the first cell footage of AS. I hope the body cam or cruiser video gives more insight into what happened...as of now, I would say guilty, but I am waiting for more evidence before I officially form a definite opinion.

I disagree.

If he knew 100% for sure (i.e. witnessed it) that this guy slaughtered people in cold blood and was running through a neighborhood, he would have a lot more justification.

But that is not the case.

He didn't know whether this guy was even involved in the crimes and he knew for a fact he had nothing in his hands.
