Animals will do what animals do. People should simply not be allowed to keep these dangerous breeds as pets. Much the same way you can't keep a lion in your backyard. The lion isn't "bad" he's just doing what lions do...only in a neighborhood. Then factor in the street trash mentality of them being "cool" and bred for fighting you get this same tragedy over and over again. Luckily I live in a good neighborhood and there aren't any around as I have a toddler who I take for walks around the neighborhood.

I saw the picture of the little blond headed girl on the TV, minutes ago. It made me think of the parents who raised a full grown python and their home and then brought home a new born baby. How do you sympathize with them? Oh, I am so sorry that you are so stupid. I don't differentiate raising pitbulls with babies and children or at all. I worked with a guy years ago who had one chained in his backyard. When I said something to him about having sch a pet when he had small children, he told me how much the kids loved the dog and the dog loved them. So I asked, what happens when a friends child is playing with his and something happens that makes his child scream or cry? Dogs are protective by nature and this breed of dog does not care if it is a kid or adult. He said, oh my dog is good. I bet this was a good dog that took the life of this child.

I'm confused by this guy's post. Are the libtards pro or against the pits?

bullshite ! My next door neighbor had three dogs. One pit bull killed the other two, plus a poodle from down the street, and they got another pit bull puppy and this dog last week grabbed it and tore it up like a rag doll toy. And they play with those dogs like they are their children. P.s thank GOD they do not ever have kids or it may die as well. I have made up my mind that if it ever gets out it will die. Period. And I hope to shoot one of you dumb shite libtard bastards standing in front to protect it from the 12 gauge blast. Piss off.
sorry about your dick

There is some really really deep seated stupidity in this thread.
Cars kill kids, let's ban them?
Ban water because a kid died in a pool?
Guns, anyone? (Yeah, yeah... Bullets)
Please.
And learn how probability works.
Are pit bulls, on average, more capable of killing people than smaller dogs? Yes. Is rhis a reason to be a moron? No.

A 2009 report issued by DogsBite.org shows that 19 dog breeds contributed to 88 deaths in a recent 3-year period. Pit bulls accounted for 59% followed by rottweilers with 14%.
Of the 88 fatal dog attacks recorded by DogsBite.org, pit bull type dogs were responsible for 59% (52). This is equivalent to a pit bull killing a U.S. citizen every 21 days during this 3-year period.
The data also shows that pit bulls commit the vast majority of off-property attacks that result in death. Only 18% (16) of the attacks occurred off owner property, yet pit bulls were responsible for 81% (13).
The data clearly shows that IF there is a fatal dog attack, THEN it is more likely one of the many pit bull type dogs.
It does NOT say that IF you have a pit bull type dof, THEN it is more likely to be be agressive, kill, etc.
Big difference.

Really ......, sure cars kill people but I'm not going to let my kids play on traffic...
also I wouldn't give a kid a gun or let them swim unsupervised in a pool .......
Your post is stupid .......

Did anyone mention how stupid the owners of this dog are ?
Dog wasn't a pure pit b/c it was 130 lbs. It still had it's balls, there was a female in heat, and they were all in an apartment. Once again a case of an ignorant owner giving the breed a bad rep.

I'll tell you what cracks my arse up about this board and it's ridiculous obsession with this breed, or maybe it's ridiculous obsessions period...
This thread on a pit killing a 4 year old little girl is already at 15 pages, yet earlier this very month I started a THREAD on a shepherd and lab that killed another 4 year old girl in Alabama, and it gets a half hearted 2 pages, and is largely ignored.
Story
If it's really about the little girl and vicious dogs, how do you reconcile that kind of dishonesty and inconsistency?
Pit Bull kills 4 year old little girl, it gets 15 pages of heated in depth discussion.
German Shepherd and Lab kills 4 year old little girl, and it's 2 pages and poof. Inconvenience is inconvenient.

The father has to live with the fact that HIS dogs killed HIS daughter. That's punishment enough.
See, in the real world (not the skittle shitting unicorn utopia imagined by statists), people are responsible for their decisions and their mistakes. This man lost his child because of his dog.
If either of my dogs EVER makes a threatening move toward me or my family, that dog ends right then.
Anybody that would keep two pitbulls in an apartment is a fricking idiot. As sorry as I am for the child, I can only blame the stupid fricking idiot father. That is who made the decision to keep a 110(?) lb pit in an apartment.
Most people who know dogs understand that for most breeds, an indoor life is not suited for their genetic traits. It's not their fault per se, it's just how they're wired.
Pits need a dominant pack leader and they need lots of exercise to keep their aggression down.
How is it a good idea to keep such a dog in a small apartment, with a woman and child? fricking idiot.
Believe me this guy doesn't need any legal repercussions. Just put yourself in his shoes and imagine how he must feel right now.
Executing all pit bulls will not prevent human stupidity. If this guy couldn't have gotten a Pit, he probably would have had a Doberman or a Rott, two other dogs that need firm leadership and exercise opportunities -- ie not ideal for a family pet/house dog.
Ignorance is no excuse IMO.
It's not the government's or your or my responsibility to protect people from their own stupidity. Because with the privilege of liberty comes responsibility.
I don't guess they teach that in school any more.

You're missing the point. There are valid reasons that thread did not gain traction.
1. It's rare for German shepards or labs to kill anyone. Everyone knows this. On the other hand fatal pit bull attacks account for well over half of all such attacks.
2. There are no militant lab or shepherd owners who blindly defend their decision to allow their huge dog unfettered accesses to children while ignoring the reality they've got a ticking time bomb on their hands. In fact, in quite certain that if either or both those breeds suddenly started attacking in numbers similar to Pitt bulls, these breeds drop drastically in popularity as was seen in the 80's with the once popular chow.
