Probably more of an indictment on the trashy area you live in more than pit bull owners.
Lots of upper middle class people rescue pit bulls because they are harder to adopt because idiots idiots think all pit bulls are violent and/or dangerous.

I had a beagle, and that fricker hated every living creature other than people. And she really didn't like people that much, more tolerated them. She would go attack dogs all the time. It got to the point, we couldn't take her anywhere.
The thing was, she weighed maybe 25 lbs. She starts to go ape shite, and a kid could control her. Pick her up, get her out of there.
Pit bulls weigh closer to 80 lbs and are strong. It is difficult for owners to control them. I have fostered pit bull (mixes) and they were super chill. The problem is not their disposition but their strength.
