Funny thing is, everybody seems to want to go back to this classy time where people dressed up and looked great. Meanwhile, the same people crying for this on message boards are wearing sweatpants to doctor's appointments and wear muscle shirts on airplanes and weigh three bills.

All natural hair color, no crazy piercings, and no tats.

The anger remains at an all-time high and is growing greater. Everybody HATES CONgress and DC. City government too. Total disgrace.

60s-80s would have been tight. As long as I wasn’t in the Military.

An 18 year old was giving me the eyes the other day even after she carded me and saw I was old enough to be her dad. It’s rough being this handsome, but I get by.
You should try Hooters, you will be walking on air when you leave and you can tell us all about it.

How many times did that manager give encouragement smacks on the arse to those cashiers?

This was probably a grand opening. They also had dudes bag your groceries and take them to the car and unload them and return the basket. That was a good summer or after school job for kids
I did that at Brookshires in Shreveport back in high school summer 1985. You had to wear a collared shirt, khakis and dress shoes. You got reprimanded for accepting tips but people still slipped you cash anyway. They ran a tight ship at that time. And anyone caught trying to steal still got an arse whipping back then.

Baby boomers are defined as individuals born between 1946 and 1964. So in 1962 the oldest Boomer was 16 years old and the youngest boomer had not been born. That photo of Peak American wasn't created by Boomers
The WW1 and Great generation produced that America. The same spirit that won the wars was the same spirit that built the most powerful country in the history of the planet.

Imagine living in a time where that lineup of women was the norm.
What a time to be alive.
Beautiful, thin, feminine women.
A booming economy.
Classic cars.
Affordable homes.
Hard to believe it was ever real.
Most people were thin.
Stock market fell 22.5% the first half of the year.
Classic cars were just cars. Your car today I’ll be a classic car 60+ years from now, too. Cool.
Minimum wage was $1.15. Booming.
There are 28 homes listed in Baton Rouge for less than $30k. Go take a look. Some built in that exact era. Affordable AND you probably get a/c today that they didn’t have in 1962. The world is your oyster. Homes were nothing like today’s homes. We had an attic fan in south Louisiana. OT fat baws would die today.
Hard to believe it was real. All decades have their issues. A picture of a bunch of beautiful women is not reality. Everyone of those women probably sewed their dress. Were harassed constantly by hard legs. That was reality. Piggly Wiggly wasn’t glamorous. Don’t be fooled by an ad.
