Visited the cemetery in Natchez last weekend and really enjoyed it. For what ever reason I like to walk around in old cemeteries and look at the old markers and tombs. Really think TulaneLSU should do the top ten grave markers of New Orleans.

Here are a few pictures from our recent trip.

Really incredible the detail in some of the markers and tombs.

Lots of really nice wrought iron also.

This statue looks like she has been in battle and may have suffered a head wound.

And of course the Turning Angel.

One last statue.

Friend,

Excellent photos. Your suggestion has already been completed, but I am waiting for the right time to release it. Mother has not given me the green light.

Yours,

It's really sad to see what's happened to beautiful cities like Natchez and Vicksburg.

Yeh Natchez is still a cool place but hardly a shell of its former glory.

Now, you're likely to end up in a basic mausoleum with 50 other schmucks and a cookie cutter "headstone".

For all our advancement, we have really killed (no pun intended) originality.

We left early Sunday morning and barely made it out. Witnessed a pretty bad crash before we made Jackson. I suspect they were returning from the rodeo. There were a few people stopped with horse trailers helping.

Natchez is still fine for a weekend, Vicksburg is best suited for day trips.

Nice pics. I’ve spent some time exploring in that cemetery.

My great uncle owned the company that made the tombstones. My grandparents and great grandparents are buried there with countless cousins. The grave of the little girl with the steps and window scared the Hell out of me when I was a kid.

A Natchez mall video from the fella that recently put out Lakeside, Clearview, Esplenade, and Riverwalk videos. I miss the days of being able to go to malls with fellow middle class plebes. Simple times, sometimes somewhat simple people, but no problems aside from petty theft.

Old cemeteries have so much character. The ones now where they just put some small marker on the ground are terrible.

If you don’t see a ghost in that place at night then they just don’t exist

Mississippi. Does Natchez LA have a village cemetery? I thought the cemeteries there were associated with churches.
