Between that and Toonces, LSU had some awful ideas they adopted !
Yeah. We kinda lost our way for awhile in the years between Arnsparger and Saban. They were trying anything to try to distract people from the sad state of existence the football program had fallen into.

More NASA interesting pics...
A few years ago, I had to drive from LA up to Edwards Air Force Base which co-locates Armstrong Flight Research Center (I still usually call it Dryden). I saw this... which is the road cut almost perpendicular through the San Andreas fault line.
As you coast down the Antelope Freeway (headed north) there is Lake Palmdale off to the right with the largest wind turbine I have ever seen. It looked odd to me because it was solo, no other turbines around at all. In the distant background is the Palmdale airport, where you can also see a lot of warehouses and manufacturing facilities. The left group includes Lockheed's Skunkworks. The right group includes a NASA refurbishing center.
At the time I was there, they were finishing up work on getting SOFIA ready. This was a collaboration between NASA and the German space agency - basically, they used an older Boeing 747-SP which is a shortened high performance 747. The 747-SP's were used for fast long distance runs and the SOFIA aircraft was originally used by Quantas for Pacific flights from the US to Australia. They reinforced the frame and cut a 12-15' hole in the side. They'd take it up above 45k feet and open the door on the side of the plane in this cutout and take infrared telescope shots straight from the side of plane. My brain doesn't go there... but they made it work somehow. The SOFIA program retired in 2022.
One last shot - MSFC here in Huntsville has a "rocket garden", so does the visitor's center at Kennedy. Armstrong/Dryden as a flight research center has a "plane garden" instead with some of them on pedestals. Maybe some of you who grew up as kids in the 1970's will recognize this aeronautical vehicle and the intro to the TV show it appeared on.

As I remember, you could get that Dodge Aspen in Petty Blue.

What’s funny, I was 3 yrs old when that show came out in 1973. I don’t think my first memory of it though was until like 74-75. One of my earliest childhood memories though is when it would come on, I’d run into the kitchen to hide because the intro scared me. I think it was the crash. As soon as I heard the intro was over, I’d run back into the living room because, even though the intro scared me, I loved the show itself.

Wow. What's the coincidence of THAT?
Somewhere, I actually have a shot as well of the jet plane on a pedestal outside of the minor league ballpark. Can't remember of that was in Palmdale or Lancaster. That would be cool. Way better than "Trash Pandas" imho.

It's in Lancaster, Jethawk Stadium (The Hangar). They shut the minor league team down and it's now a minor league soccer stadium

Thanks for the stadium info and follow up.
I have always been a fan of stadium design and fan experiences. I'm glad they were able to repurpose the stadium and keep the jet you can see in the lower left, those are usually only on loan. But the stadium layout now seems to be a bit... suboptimal for a soccer (futbol) match.

I don't recall ever getting to see the show until it hit syndication/reruns. My dad was a pastor and T6MDM came on Sunday nights as I recall.

Bud Dwyer, and I regretted watching that video, very disturbing.

Bud went 1 for 1 that day and recorded the final out.

The picture you posted is not.
The video is rather graphic.
