Pictures from the first Orange Bowl game played at Miami Orange Bowl Stadium, played Jan. 1, 1938. Auburn would go on to defeat Michigan State by a blowout score of 6-0.
This last picture shows Auburn’s Ralph O’Gwynn scoring the game’s only touchdown.

1938 was the first Orange Bowl played in Miami Orange Bowl Stadium. Before 1938 it was played at Miami Field. I corrected my post.

I can smell the 70's in that picture. Deep shag carpet, ashtray on the lamp platform, heavily printed sofa covering to go with the heavily printed mini-dress the gals wearing, the white platform shoes and likely the stench of stale cigarette smoke in all of it........
The only thing missing is a little ankle biter of a dog crapping on the carpet.
