Architect Irving Fenichel designed the building for the Knickerbocker Ice Company, who built it for its laundry business.

Alice White's status as a lead star was somewhat brief, around the transition time between the last silents and the earliest talkies. Bubbly and cute as a button, although a bit one-note, in a somewhat crassly showgirl manner. Probably the reason her stardom didn't last long. She was better in smaller character parts than as star. She was pretty hilarious in "Secret of the Chateau" (1934), for example.
