Another instance of politicians being out of touch with people. I dont know a single farmer (and I know many) you works according to his watch. Most are up well before sunrise. They work until dark or it starts to rain. When it rains they work in their barns on things that need doing.


Only a politician would be stupid enough to think that moving the hands on a clock would give farmers more time to till the soil.

The "Boy Mayor" of NYC, John Purroy Mitchel

Elected as a Reform Republican in 1914 at age 34, Mitchel failed to win reelection in 1917 and then enlisted in the Air Service to fight in WWI. During a training exercise near Lake Charles he fell 500 ft to his death from his airplane, due to an unfastened seatbelt.
