These old ads evoked a memory.
Several decades ago my grandfather told one of the funniest things he had ever seen was back when he was in Europe during WW1 and it was a guy who could fart a tune. Being kids we thought that was hilarious. About 10 years after that I stumbled across an old vintage ad in the comic mag National Lampoon with a guy farting and showing musical notes. So I did some digging and didn't find the exact ad, but did find this and it has to be the same guy, Les Petomane, The Fartomaniac. Saw another old ad in French that says he's appearing nightly at the Moulin Rouge. To bad we can't see him on the America's Got Talent TV show.

The Hopper sketches are awesome. I think the painting is still in Chicago Art Institute.
