My Dad and his 2 brothers had just walked across the street when the blast happened. They ran all the way home and told their parents. My Grandfather went to the school and started locating survivors but found many dead students. He worked almost 24 hours along with many other men and was exhausted when they went home. My Grandmother said he cried for weeks because it was so
horrifying for him to find all those children's bodies!
