From a 1980 TV ad for Gauthier Mobile Homes in Lafayette

Watch the ad - Reddit link (only place I could find the ad)

Do you Laffy people really talk like this?

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

We still have some of those, as well as an ornament I made in the 2nd grade (1967).

This image features the 1955 GMC L'Universelle concept truck.
It was a visionary prototype unveiled at the 1955 General Motors Motorama show.
The name "L'Universelle" is French and means "The Universal".
It featured front-wheel drive, which allowed for a low, flat cargo floor only 13 inches off the ground.
The concept was powered by a 287 ci Pontiac V-8 engine and had unique "folding gullwing" side doors.
It is considered an early precursor to the modern minivan design.

I have three. When I was a kid in the 70s, we had a bunch of the old glass ornaments. The three I have are all that are left. No idea exactly how old they are, but I’m quite certain they date from the mid-50s to maybe early 60s. They totally clash with everything else on the tree, so we kinda hide them in the back. But I wouldn’t consider not putting them on the tree every year.
