Same. People shouldn't be too quick to jump to conclusions here.

Deer have been all over the freaking place in Athens lately. I lived there from 2004 until last year, and I can say that the uptick in deer outside of town (and even in town) has been noticeably apparent in the past couple of years. My wife and several others I know have commented on it as well.

I thought deer maybe too, but even with a deer they were going way too fast. They snapped a power pole in half. Speed limit varies from 35-45 on that road. No way they were going less than 70 I'd bet.

Amazing anyone survived looking at what's left of that SUV. Sad that a great day of celebrating ended up with this happening at the end of it all.
To all the first responders that do this for a living you guys don't make enough. If i pulled up on this it would be hard for me to get out knowing what i might see inside.

Yikes, I didn’t realize that. I knew they’d hit a power pole, but didn’t know it was that bad.

They definitely weren't going 45 or under that's for damn sure

More accident scene pics

Is the parked white mini van for the coroner or CSI ? It looks like it was already parked there by an apartment resident ???

Obviously the survivors were in the back seats because no way anyone survives sitting in the front seats. The big fella in the front probably saved the two in the back by taking alot of the initial impact.

How fast were they going if the car ended up that far off the road and in that shape? Jeez

My first question. You dont do that to a car at 60mph. That was some serious energy

Not trying to speculate on shinnanigans just honestly curious, are these female recruiting staffers on payroll or more like they were back in the day and it was just like a club activity they had students do?

I would think unless it was some sort of official capacity like a team event, there would be strict rules against them interacting if they were on payroll. I know it happens all over either way.

If they are on the recruiting payroll , isn’t interacting with players and recruits part of their job?

You need to read up on velocity and physics….

I’m sure they were speeding and lost control…

Considering these guys were both 20 they are far from recruits anymore, and it’s 1:45am.

My point was it seems like a bad idea to have young women on payroll interacting with players late at night.

Based on the debris on top of the van it was already parked there. Looks like the expedition came from the left.

The 1:45 am thing is certainly a tad suspect, but I’d say that for male or female recruiting staff.

But they do interact with current players around who is hosting recruits, what the plans are, where they need to be, etc., etc.

But yeah where are you going at 2 am?

Wasn't it 2:45 AM? Regardless they had to be traveling at a very high rate of speed to cause that sort of damage to the vehicle. There's speculation it was a university vehicle which will only cast more shadow on the accident if true.

I think our expedition is a tank.

Tanks equal mass, mass with velocity equals kinetic energy. That SUV with passengers at 60mph has over a million joules of kinetic energy.
