But what if they were just kidding making fun of racists and it was an inside joke? Wouldn't you need the context?

Of course. Would you not want to know the reasons why someone did something before passing judgement?

So in your own example of something with context, you would actually need more context before forming an opinion?

I would want to know all the context before forming an opinion.

No. They are either stupid or racist. I don't need to know which to pass judgment.

Look, it's almost like you're ignoring the context of the conversation to score a gotcha.

Let's put it in context then:

Is making a stupid mistake grounds for being fired? Especially if you had no intent of harming anyone?

I was really hoping Trump would outlaw such stupidity.

I have, but I have yet to be fired for any of them. I've also never made a stupid mistake that negatively affected my place of employment in any meaningful way

Well lookie here. Right on time. Tell me why black people get to now claim sole ownership of one of the most common means (and still one of the most common types of suicide) of execution in human history? Look, I know your type (perpetually offended people, not black people in general) likes to see racism behind every wiggling Bush, but maybe you should try to find...you know...actual racism first? When a white person hangs themself...are they racist?

Dude people in 2019 aren't associating nooses with execution in the Middle Ages etc. This is America. Recent history (19th century, 20th and some 21st) nooses are associated with the klan and lynching so that's why people, when they see a group of white women smiling with one jump to that.

So these ladies are stupid if nothing else.

So you're saying not all stupid mistakes are fireable offenses?

Posting a picture of a noose negatively affected their place of employment?

Or did people getting offended over a picture without context because they had an ideological ax to grind negatively affect their place of employment?

Which has been my entire point that certain posters can't or won't grasp.

What they did was dumb and not thinking in the current state of this country (sadly enough). However the why matters in terms of the proper response.

Which used hanging as public execution (of all races) until 1996. And is still on the books for Delaware.

It certainly appears to have done that in this case. Losing students is losing money, and they were losing at least one student if these people weren't fired

This wouldn't have had a chance of happening had they not posted/emailed/shared the picture
